The Detroit Pistons have become the second NBA team to launch a blockchain-based rewards system. Through the Uptop platform, built on the Avalanche network, fans can now earn points for everyday purchases and redeem them for exclusive team experiences.

The Pistons’ adoption of Uptop points to a broader trend: blockchain-powered loyalty programs in the NBA.

With two NBA teams already on board, the trend suggests broader adoption of Web3 solutions that connect sports, consumer behavior, and community on a single platform.
