League of Legends Classic is now available, taking players back to one of the most memorable eras of Riot Games' MOBA. Based primarily on the Season 3 experience, this mode brings back the original rune system, masteries, items, and classic champion versions, completely changing the way each character is built.

Unlike the current version of League of Legends, the Classic meta revolves around longer trades, lower mobility, and items that disappeared years ago. Here are some of the best builds for each role to help you climb the ranked ladder in the new mode.

Top: Nasus, Jax, and Malphite dominate the lane

The top lane once again favors champions that can scale comfortably or excel in extended duels. Nasus and Jax stand out as two of the strongest picks in the current meta thanks to their excellent mid and late-game power spikes.

Recommended build for Nasus

  • Starting items: Boots + 3 Health Potions.
  • Core items:
    • Sheen.
    • Trinity Force.
    • Frozen Heart.
    • Spirit Visage.
    • Guardian Angel.
    • Mercury's Treads or Ninja Tabi depending on the enemy team composition.

This setup takes full advantage of Siphoning Strike (Q) while providing enough durability to stay on the front line during team fights.

Alternative: Jax

For Jax, Trinity Force remains the most important item. It can be paired with Blade of the Ruined King, Guardian Angel, and Randuin's Omen to maximize his dueling potential.

Jungle: Lee Sin and Jarvan IV lead the meta

The classic jungle once again rewards champions with strong early-game pressure. Lee Sin retains many of the tools that made him one of the most popular junglers during Season 3, while Jarvan IV offers reliable engage potential and excellent objective control.

Recommended build for Lee Sin

  • Starting items:

    • Hunter's Machete.
    • 5 Health Potions.
  • Core items:

    • Spirit of the Elder Lizard.
    • Brutalizer.
    • Black Cleaver.
    • Guardian Angel.
    • Randuin's Omen.
    • Mercury's Treads.

The goal is to create constant pressure from the early game through jungle invades, ganks, and map control.

Mid: Ahri and Kassadin are the top picks

The mid lane once again becomes one of the most impactful roles thanks to its ability to roam quickly to other lanes. Kassadin stands out for his incredible scaling, while Ahri offers mobility, burst damage, and reliable pick potential.

Recommended build for Ahri

  • Starting items:

    • Doran's Ring.
    • 2 Health Potions.
  • Core items:

    • Deathfire Grasp.
    • Sorcerer's Shoes.
    • Rabadon's Deathcap.
    • Void Staff.
    • Zhonya's Hourglass.
    • Abyssal Scepter.

Deathfire Grasp once again becomes one of the most impactful items in Classic Mode, significantly enhancing the burst combos of many mages and assassins.

Robux ESP

ADC: Ezreal and Vayne lead the bottom lane

The marksman role once again relies heavily on positioning and item scaling. Ezreal stands out thanks to his safe laning phase, while Vayne returns as one of the strongest hyper-carries for extended team fights.

Recommended build for Ezreal

  • Starting items:

    • Doran's Blade.
    • Health Potion.
  • Core items:

    • Manamune.
    • Iceborn Gauntlet (when available in the corresponding version of the mode) or Trinity Force depending on the game version.
    • Last Whisper.
    • Bloodthirster.
    • Guardian Angel.
    • Berserker's Greaves.

For Vayne, Infinity Edge, Phantom Dancer, and Bloodthirster remain one of the strongest core item combinations for the late game.

Support: Leona and Sona provide the biggest impact

Classic supports once again focus primarily on vision control and initiating team fights. Leona stands out thanks to her massive crowd control, while Sona remains one of the best choices for empowering the entire team.

Recommended build for Leona

  • Starting items:

    • Faerie Charm.
    • Wards.
    • Health Potions.
  • Core items:

    • Philosopher's Stone.
    • Sightstone (depending on the version available in the mode).
    • Locket of the Iron Solari.
    • Shurelya's Reverie.
    • Randuin's Omen.
    • Mercury's Treads.

Gold generation items once again play a major role for supports, allowing them to remain effective without relying on farming.

Tips for mastering the League of Legends Classic meta

The pace of League of Legends Classic is very different from the main game. Matches are generally slower, and mistakes during the laning phase have a much greater impact, making it advisable to prioritize champions with strong scaling and learn the classic itemization paths.

It is also worth remembering that Riot has confirmed League Classic will continue to evolve through updates and community voting. As a result, the meta may change over time as new champions, balance adjustments, and additional content are introduced.

What is the best build setup to start with?

If your goal is to use the strongest options in the current meta, Nasus in the top lane, Lee Sin in the jungle, Ahri in mid, Ezreal as ADC, and Leona as support form one of the most consistent team compositions during the first weeks of League of Legends Classic. However, since the mode has only recently launched, Riot is expected to introduce balance changes, and the best builds will likely continue evolving as more competitive data and match statistics become available.
