Dave the Diver comes to mobile devices with the same combination of underwater exploration and restaurant management that made MINTROCKET's game one of the most recognized indie titles of recent years. The iOS and Android version is an adaptation of the original game and is optimized for touch controls.
In the game, Dave must switch between two main activities: during the day, he explores the Blue Hole, catches fish, and gathers resources; at night, he manages a sushi restaurant alongside Bancho. Both parts are connected, so effective management of each dive has a direct impact on the restaurant's performance.
The structure of Dave the Diver is mainly divided between the ocean and the restaurant. Dives allow players to obtain the ingredients needed to prepare dishes, while the profits earned at night can be used to upgrade Dave's equipment and make progress with the business.
The Blue Hole changes throughout the game, so not every dive offers exactly the same resources or enemies. In addition to fishing, players can find materials, weapons, and other items needed to progress.
The priority during the first few hours should be to learn this gameplay cycle before trying to collect as many resources as possible during every dive.
Oxygen is one of the most important resources while Dave is underwater. If it runs out, the fish and items collected during the dive are lost, so it is not advisable to keep exploring for too long when the oxygen supply is close to its limit.

A simple strategy is to prioritize the fish and materials that are actually needed for current recipes or missions. Trying to collect absolutely everything can eventually force Dave to leave the area before completing important objectives.
It is also recommended to progressively upgrade the diving equipment. The resources obtained in the ocean and the money generated by the restaurant allow players to craft and upgrade equipment, making it easier to reach more dangerous areas and face tougher creatures.
The harpoon is one of Dave's first tools, but other weapons are unlocked throughout the adventure. These allow him to fight different creatures and obtain resources in different ways.
Combat is not always necessary. If a creature poses a considerable risk and is not part of the dive's objective, it may be more efficient to avoid it and continue exploring.
The second half of the game begins when night arrives and Dave has to run the restaurant. The ingredients obtained during dives are used here to prepare the dishes that will be served to customers.
One of the most common mistakes when starting out is trying to create a menu that is too large. It is preferable to focus on dishes that have good ingredients available and can generate enough income without consuming resources that will be needed for other tasks.

Restaurant sales are important because they allow players to fund upgrades and prepare for future dives. Therefore, the nighttime activity should not be viewed as a separate part of the adventure: the money earned during service directly contributes to Dave's progress.
Before starting service, it is worth checking which dishes have enough ingredients. The fish caught during the day form the basis of much of the menu, so the decisions made during a dive directly affect the amount of food available at night.
As the game progresses, new recipes and opportunities to upgrade the restaurant will appear. Instead of spending all resources immediately, it is advisable to keep some of the materials needed for future upgrades.
Management also includes hiring staff and improving different aspects of the restaurant. These options help reduce Dave's workload and make services more efficient as the number of customers increases.
The mobile adaptation retains the structure of the original game, but incorporates an interface designed for touch controls. MINTROCKET states that this version was specifically optimized for mobile devices following previous testing with the Chinese version.
This is especially important during dives, where movement and combat require a certain degree of precision. For this reason, it is advisable to first get used to the position of the controls and adjust the interface if it feels uncomfortable.

The global version will be available for iOS and Android on September 17, 2026. The download will be free and will allow players to try the beginning of the game before unlocking the full game through an in-app purchase.
On Android, the official Google Play listing confirms that it is a direct adaptation of the PC game and includes exploration of the Blue Hole, restaurant management, equipment upgrades, side missions, and additional content.
During the first few hours, a straightforward approach is to follow the main missions, learn the fishing and restaurant mechanics, and use the initial income to upgrade equipment.
The priorities should be:
The goal is not to maximize every dive from the beginning, but to progressively build an efficient cycle between exploration, fishing, cooking, and management.
The main characteristic of Dave the Diver is precisely the connection between its two systems. The ocean provides the resources the restaurant needs, while the business's income allows players to upgrade the tools used to return to the Blue Hole.
For this reason, new players do not need to specialize exclusively in exploration or management. Progression works best when both activities advance together: better dives make it possible to obtain better ingredients, while a more efficient restaurant generates the resources needed to continue exploring.
With this dynamic in mind, the first few hours on mobile become easier to manage. The key is to avoid wasting oxygen during dives, keep resources under control, and use restaurant earnings to progressively improve Dave's abilities.
