Dead by Daylight expands its collaboration with the Stranger Things series through the release of Chapter 2, currently available in the Public Test Build (PTB) 9.4.0. This update introduces a new killer, two new playable survivors, original perks, significant changes to the 2v8 mode, and visual adjustments. The content can be tested in advance before its arrival on the live servers.

The main addition of this chapter is Vecna – Number One, a killer focused on map control, the accumulation of progressive status effects on survivors, and direct pressure on generators.
His ability kit revolves around the application of tokens and the activation of a temporary offensive phase that alters the pace of the match.

Vecna is equipped with Vine Attack, a chargeable ability that launches an area-of-effect zone. Survivors who remain within this area gain one token each time they are hit.
This is complemented by the Upside Down mechanic, which allows the killer to enter this dimension to traverse the map quickly. Upon exiting, Vecna creates an Undergate, an offensive area that applies two tokens to affected survivors.

When a survivor accumulates four tokens, a global timer is activated. During this period, four clocks appear across the map. While the timer is active, both Vine Attack and Undergate deal direct damage.
Survivors can interact with the clocks to reduce the remaining time and limit the duration of this phase.
Turn Back the Clock allows Vecna, after hooking a survivor, to cause a nearby generator to explode, resulting in a 10% loss of progress.
Secret Project activates when a totem is cleansed or blessed, blocking a random generator for a limited time. While that generator remains blocked, the killer becomes undetectable.
Hex: Hive Mind transforms a dull totem into a hex totem the first time a survivor is hooked. Through the generator’s aura, the killer can monitor its progress.
When only one generator remains incomplete, all remaining generators explode and lose 10% progress, after which the totem is disabled.
The chapter introduces two playable survivors, both originating from the Stranger Things universe, featuring perks focused on teamwork, information gathering, and situational control.
Dustin is presented as a survivor centered on tactical support and environmental manipulation during chases.
Bada Bada Boom activates after completing a percentage of generator progress and allows the placement of a trap on a window. When the killer vaults through it, their movement speed is reduced by 20% for six seconds.
Change of Plan allows the player to start the match with tokens that enable swapping a toolbox for a medkit of the same rarity, preserving an equivalent conversion of add-ons. The medkit can reach up to 100% charge.

With Teamwork: Full Circuit, Dustin enhances cooperative gameplay. For each survivor repairing a generator alongside him, the skill check success zone increases by 25%. Additionally, if at least one other survivor is cooperating, a 5% repair speed bonus is granted.
Eleven introduces a set of perks focused on environmental awareness, information reveal, and quiet cooperation.
Extrasensory Perception activates after crouching for four seconds, allowing the survivor to see the aura of nearby objects within a radius that gradually expands up to a maximum of 44 meters.
When crouching stops or after eleven seconds, the perk enters a cooldown period.

We See You grants tokens each time the killer reveals Eleven’s aura. Upon reaching four tokens, the killer’s aura is revealed to all survivors for a limited time.
Teamwork: Soft-Spoken reduces the noise generated while repairing generators based on the number of cooperating survivors. If at least one survivor is repairing alongside her, a 5% repair speed bonus is also applied.
The 2v8 mode receives several relevant adjustments and additions within this PTB.
Among the highlights is the addition of Chucky as a playable killer, available for testing starting on the 8th within the test environment.
A new survivor class called Torch Bearer is also introduced, starting the match with a flashlight. Its main ability allows the creation of a light grenade that does not occupy the item slot and reveals the aura of survivors currently being chased.

Herbs previously seen in earlier collaborations return under the name Tonics, reintegrated into the 2v8 mode rotation.
Regarding environments, Rancid Abattoir and Rotten Fields are added to the available map selection.
As part of the visual updates, Nancy Wheeler’s face model has been redesigned, adjusting her visual appearance.
Additionally, legendary characters such as Robin and Eddie are confirmed, available as cosmetic content.

Stranger Things: Chapter 2 significantly expands Dead by Daylight’s content, both in gameplay and structural terms. The introduction of Vecna, the new survivors, teamwork-oriented perks, and changes to the 2v8 mode position this update as one of the most extensive in the game’s recent development cycle.
