On December 23, the following updates were published: Faraway Foundry, matchmaking, upcoming game changes. You can listen to the recording here: Community Updates.
What are the plans to grow the gaming community? Answer: One of our main strategies to grow the community is through the Faraway Foundry program. We focus on supporting smaller creators who constantly engage with their audience. Instead of just dedicating resources to bigger streamers, we want to nurture those who are struggling and building tight-knit communities.
Will you continue to support small and medium-sized creators while expanding opportunities for them to promote the game?
Answer: Absolutely! We are dedicated to growing with small and medium-sized creators. If you are enjoying the game and want to create content about it, get in touch with us. We are here to support you and help you participate in promoting the game in a meaningful way.
Are there any pay-to-win elements in the game? Answer: There are elements like boosters that can provide some advantages, but having all the boosts in the world does not mean you will automatically come out victorious; it still requires skill and strategy to succeed.
What is happening with matchmaking? Answer: We are aware of server issues causing players' matches to end mid-game. We are in communication with Amazon to implement a solution. We are also aware of the long queue times; we have some patches in mind, but we really need more players. We will continue working on marketing and growing Shatterline to fix the queue times and matchmaking balance issues.
How do you intend for players to report problems? Answer: Community feedback is crucial to us. We are committed to regular AMAs and maintaining dedicated feedback channels. The more we hear from you, the better we can understand and address any issues effectively.
Do you think Faraway and Frag Labs will end up sponsoring some of the major creators? Answer: For now, we are sticking with smaller creators. While big streamers can reach more people, they often do not convert into players. We want to build meaningful relationships with communities that are truly passionate about our game and can provide genuine feedback.
Ranked skins + badge system? Answer: Yes, we will look into the ranking system and see how to incorporate those aspects into the game. We have moved away from the badge system, but there is potential to create similar systems or features in the future.
Will any new content be added to the game? Answer: We already have some new and exciting modes in playtesting. Our main goal is to increase the player base before adding more entry points to the game.
Is there a possibility of having a box with tradeable skins within the community? Answer: If there is enough demand for a skin trading economy, we will explore the possibility of making it happen. It is about making sure we align with what the community wants.
Reports have been received of some players experiencing server issues and getting a "Game Over" screen while playing. For those who have experienced a crash or an unexpected "game over" mid-Expedition, they will receive a bundle of six boxes with resources, gear, and consumables for each crash.
