The universe of Pixels enters a new stage with the launch of Chapter 3: Bountyfall. This season focuses on collaboration, strategy, and rivalry among three Unions fighting to restore balance to Terra Villa.

Players must choose a faction, work with allies, collect Yieldstones, and compete for territorial control. Victory belongs to the Union that fully restores the health of its “Hearth,” the symbolic heart of its community.

Three Unions, Three Philosophies

Each Union has its own identity, playstyle, and type of Yieldstone. This choice defines every player’s strategy within Bountyfall.

  • Wildgroves: represent harmony with nature. They use Verdant Yieldstones to strengthen their Hearth and help the ecosystem flourish.
  • Seedwrights: value discipline and constant effort. Their Flint Yieldstones reflect precision and hard work.
  • Reapers: embrace the natural cycle of life and death. With Hollow Yieldstones, they channel the energy of renewal and rebirth.

Each deposited stone reinforces the health of a Union’s Hearth. The first team to reach 100% health will be declared the chapter’s winner.

How Bountyfall Works

In Bountyfall, everything revolves around Yieldstones — energy stones that represent collective effort.
Players can obtain them by completing missions on the taskboard or crafting them on their NFT lands.

These stones can be used in two ways:

  1. Strengthen your own Union: by depositing compatible Yieldstones into the Hearth to increase its health.
  2. Sabotage rival Unions: by sending incompatible Yieldstones that weaken or block their progress.

This system adds a layer of strategy involving both cooperation and betrayal, keeping the gameplay dynamic. It enhances social interaction and teamwork — two key pillars the studio aims to strengthen this season.

Offerings, Sabotage, and Union Changes

Beyond Yieldstones, players can perform Offerings, special actions that boost their Hearth’s performance or defend their Union from attacks. Some, like the Power Offering, increase the efficiency of collective progress.

Sabotage is another strategic option: by sending the wrong Yieldstones to an enemy Hearth, players can reduce its health or slow its recovery, introducing a direct competitive element.

If a player wishes to switch Unions, it can be done under certain conditions. The first change is free or has a low cost, but subsequent ones require spending 50 PIXEL and waiting a 48-hour cooldown before switching again.

Rewards and Season Structure

The season ends when one Union reaches full Hearth health. At that point, rewards are distributed among the winning team’s members based on their level of participation — meaning how many Yieldstones they contributed or what role they played. The reward pool can reach up to 50,000 PIXEL tokens (approx. US$7,500).

Distribution follows a tiered structure: first place receives the largest portion of the rewards, followed by smaller percentages for the second and third Unions.

A Step Toward a Stronger Economy

The Pixels development team has stated that Bountyfall aims to strengthen the game’s economy
and build sustainable systems driven by player participation. More than just an expansion, this chapter represents an evolution toward a competitive social model that blends cooperation, strategy, and real rewards.

The Union system also democratizes access: any player can join any of the three factions without belonging to guilds or private groups, making participation easier and fostering the global Pixels community.
